It was 8 o’clock in the morning and I was waiting for my friend to call me. Two days earlier, he told me that he wanted to go to Austria and do some shopping. He asked me to join him and I agreed.

I don’t go shopping to Austria very often. Actually, I don’t need anything. I can buy the few things which I need here, at home. I don’t have to travel abroad. But I agreed to go with my friend because I had no better things to do.

He said that he would call me at 8 o’clock. It was 8:15, and he still didn’t call. But I did not worry. He is always late. I cannot remember when he came on time before.

However, at 8:20 I started to be a little impatient. I usually do not have a problem with 5 or 10 minutes, but 20 minutes is a little long for me.

I looked at my phone and I saw that I had three missed calls there. Suddenly, I remembered! On the previous night, some other friends of mine were in a pub. They got drunk and started calling me in the middle of the night. I turned off the volume on my phone so that I could sleep. Oh my! I felt so stupid!

Just then the phone rang again. I picked it up: “What’s wrong with you?” my friend asked impatiently. “I thought that you died in your sleep!”

“I’m on my way,” I said and I quickly ended the call. I felt so stupid.. I hoped that my friend would not be very angry with me.

When I got into his car and told him what happened, he just laughed and started his car. We went to do the shopping, at last.
