Naše audio-vizuálne online spojenie so študentom prebieha v HD kvalite, čo je z praktického hľadiska tá najdôležitejšia podmienka efektívneho vyučovania jazyka. Pokiaľ nie je dohodnuté inak, jedna vyučovacia hodina (VH) trvá 60 minút. Štandardná výučba prebieha 2x za týždeň, t.j. 2xVH za týždeň, pri individuálnych a konverzačných hodinách je možná intenzita 1xVH za týždeň.

Pri výuke používame nasledovné učebnice:

Essential Grammar in Use (červená) – pre úroveň 1 a 2
English Grammar in Use (modrá) – pre úroveň 3

Vyučovanie sa uskutočňuje cez aplikáciu ZOOM. Pre študenta je dostupná bezplatne. Jednoducho si ju nainštaluje do zariadenia (PC, mobil, tablet), cez ktoré sa mieni zúčasťnovať na VH. Plynulý priebeh VH si, zo strany študenta, vyžaduje silný a stabilný internet a zariadenie s mikrofónom.

Ako dlho trvá kurz u Vás?

My nemáme kurzy. My učíme anglický jazyk na dvoch ucelených úrovniach (viď Naša Filozofia). Rýchlosť, akou prejdete cez danú úroveň, závisí (okrem Vašej počiatočnej úrovne) od toho, v akej miere budete napĺňať svojich 80% našej “zmluvy”. V priemere sa jedna úroveň dá absolvovať počas 6 mesiacov (s výnimkou úplných začiatočníkov). Mali sme aj študentov, ktorí prešli jednu úroveň v priebehu 3-4 mesiacov.

Skúšal som sa naučiť hovoriť po anglicky mnohokrát, ale nemám talent na jazyky. Myslíte, že mi dokážete pomôcť?

Ak viete hovoriť vo svojom materinskom jazyku, tak nato, aby ste hovorili po anglicky, nepotrebujete “talent”. Potrebujete sa prestať ľutovať a začať sa naozaj učiť. No hlavne potrebujete vedieť, čo a ako sa máte učiť.

Vyučujete anglický jazyk aj v skupinkách?

Áno, v závislosti od počtu záujemcov na porovnateľnej jazykovej úrovni. .

Potrebujm spĺňať nejaké zvláštne predpoklady pre Váš štýl výuky?

Je nespornou výhodou, ak študent má pozitívny vzťah k čítaniu, t.j. číta, aspoň občas, knihy vo svojom materinskom jazyku. A potom je potrebná už len vnútorná túžba naučiť sa anglický jazyk. Študent, ktorý sa “učí”, lebo musí, napreduje pomaly a cez svoj negatívny postoj k učeniu, stáva sa strojcom svojho vlastného neúspechu.

Našiel by som si čas na vyučovaciu hodinu, ale na dodatočné domáce úlohy nemám ani čas ani náladu. Naučím sa anglický jazyk takýmto spôsobom?

How We Teach

The unprecedented response of the European states to the pandemic situation caused by the coronavirus has, practically overnight, moved the socioeconomic life in our societies to the online space. Putting aside its many negative consequences, within a few short weeks, this enforced situation showed a good many people that the online sphere, in the technical sense of the word, is fully capable of competing with the personal, live interaction between two parties in many a field of our work lives. We, of course, are predominantly interested in the field of education, specifically in teaching of the English language. We are convinced that the online teaching has cemented its place for good, if not as a direct competition, than certainly as a full-fledged alternative to the personal, live teaching at language schools. And it is this ONLINE mode of teaching, which we hereby offer to our students or students-to-be.

Our audio-visual online connection with our students is carried out in HD quality, which, from the practical point of view, would be the most important condition for an efficient language teaching. Hence, if we disregard the physical absence of a student from the classroom, which under certain conditions (e.g. written exams) is, no doubt, a shortcoming, it remains for us, at least partially, to name the advantages of online lessons in HD quality, when compared with the traditional language school.

Basic info

Unless agreed otherwise, one English Lesson (EL) takes 60 minutes. Our standard teaching frequency is one English Lesson taken twice a week, i.e. 2x 1EL / per week; with individual and conversation classes the intensity of 1x 1EL / per week is possible.

Learning with us, you will be using the following books:

Essential Grammar in Use (red cover) – for lever 1 and 2
English Grammar in Use (blue cover) – for lever 3

The lessons are given via ZOOM application, which for students is available free of charge. Simply install the ZOOM application onto your device (PC, mobile, tablet) through which you wish to take part in your lessons. For the uninterrupted transmittion of the lesson, the student is required to secure a reliable internet connection and a device with microphone.

How long does it take to cover one language course with you?

We do not have language courses. We teach the English language at two grammatical levels as a whole (see Our Philosophy). The speed with which you complete the given level depends (aside from your starting level) on the extent to which you will be fulfulling your 80% of our “contract”. In average, one level can be accomplished within 6 months – with the exception of the absolute beginners. We had students who got through one level in 3-4 months.

I have tried to learn to speak in English many times, but I have no talent for languages. Do you think you can help me?

If you can speak in your mother tongue, then to speak in English, you need no special “talent”. What you need is to stop feeling sorry for yourself and start learning in real. But most of all, you need to know what and how to learn. And with that, we can help you, for sure.

Do you teach English also in groups?

Yes, we do, depending on the number of participants of a comparable language level interested in this form of lessons at the given time.

Do I need to have any special skills to avail of your teaching method?

It is highly advisable that the student should have a positive attitude to reading, i.e. they, at least occasionally, read books in their mother tongue. After that all you need is a sincere desire to learn the English Language. For they, who “learn” because they have to, progress very slowly and through their negative attitude to learning, they become the master of their own failure.

I would find the time for the lesson, but as to the additional homework exercises, I have neither time nor the mood for those. Will I learn the English language this way, too?

No.

Do you offer purely conversational lessons? What is the minimum number of lessons one has to take?

Yes, we do. For the conversation, the minimum is 1 lesson.

Do you teach international students, too?
